Australian F1 GP: Lewis Hamilton itching for the debut of Ferrari | Moto Sports News

Lewis Hamilton was prepared for his first F1 race for the famous Italian car manufacturer at Albert Park.
Lewis Hamilton says the itching to go during the “most exciting periods of my life” in Ferrari, while warning of the transitional period as he gets used to the new car.
After 12 years with Mercedes, the first time will be racing at the Ferrari Red at the Australian Grand Prix, which opened the season this weekend, knowing that the expectations are high.
The sevenfold world champion officially began his work in Scuderia in January after his impact and finished 162 rounds of testing in Bahrein.
Hamilton, 40, said it was difficult to evaluate Ferrari’s place in the order of the season at the beginning of the season on Thursday.
“Obviously three days in the car, it’s hard to know where we stand with everyone else. But we just try to put our heads down and just focus on our job,” Melbourne said on Thursday.
“But for me, I mean, I just itch to go, I suppose it had been coming for a long time.”
Ferrari was at the Constructor Championship last year by McLaren, which is the seventh time when the Italian team finished second since they last won the team in 2008.
Kimi Raikkonen was the last driver of Ferrari to raise the World Cup for the famous Italian car manufacturer in 2007, and Hamilton alleged the expectations of what he could achieve.
“I expect myself. I know what I can bring, I know I can deliver, I know what it will take to do, and that just lowers your head and works,” he said.
“Well, I come with a very open mind. It’s about getting into the season, it’s about getting into a good rhythm.
“I’m still learning this new car that is quite different from what I was running for my previous career, in terms of Mercedes’ power enters Ferrari Power,” he added.
“It’s something completely new, a different vibration, a different feeling, a different way of working.
“The whole team works completely differently.”
But he said that a new challenge motivated him.
“Definitely this is the most exciting period of my life, and so I really enjoy it, and I’m so excited to get in the car tomorrow,” he said on Thursday.
Asked what would be a good result in Melbourne, he replied, “I think in the end I want to go knowing, knowing that I did absolutely everything.
“I stressed myself in a way I know I can, that I felt comfortable in the car and just one foot in front of the other.”
