Newsom invites Trump to California, urges against politicizing ‘human tragedy’, spreading ‘misinformation’
Governor of California Gavin Newsom invited President-elect Trump to visit the Golden State to witness the devastation caused by the wildfires, meet with victims and thank first responders.
The governor’s message to Trump on Friday came as the fires continued ravages parts of California.
Newsom urged against the politicization of a “human tragedy” and the spread of “disinformation.”
“In the spirit of this great country, we must not politicize a human tragedy or spread misinformation from the sidelines. Hundreds of thousands of Americans — displaced from their homes and in fear for the future — deserve to see all of us working in their best interests to ensure a speedy recovery and rebuilding,” he wrote is Newsom.

Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom’s office Saturday for comment, but no comment was forthcoming. Trump’s camp did not respond to a request for comment.

Trump has criticized Newsom, even saying he should step down as governor.
“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning to the ground. It’s ashes and Gavin Newscum should resign. It’s all his fault!!!” the president-elect said in a Truth Social post this week.
