Taiwanese President Lai Ching-Te claims that China deepens his “influence campaign” to the island.
Taiwanese President William Lai Ching-Te says China deepens his campaign for spying and infiltration against the island and that his government will propose various measures to confront Peking’s efforts to “absorb” Taiwan.
In an interview with journalists after meeting with security officers on Thursday, Lai said Beijing was trying to nurture relations with members of Taiwanese society, including groups of organized crime, media figures and police officers.
