With so many of our lives contained on our devices, especially our iPhones or iPades, it can feel particularly devastating if you accidentally delete the message you still need.
Whether it’s informative or personally, it can be panic that you can’t download the message or conversation you need.
Fortunately, Apple has a built -in way to recover recently deleted messages.

Enabling a message filtering on an iPhone or iPad to organize texts
Deleted a text message or thread of conversation on your iPhone or iPad? The instructions below depend on whether or not you have included messages of messages. What message filtering does is categorize your messages in separate lists, such as well -known sender, unknown sender and unprofessional messages. However, some of you may not yet have this feature. If you want to allow messages to filter, here’s the step:
- Open Settings app on your iPhone or ipad
- Move down and tap Apps
- Tap Messages
- Move on a message filter section and turn on a switch for Filter unknown sender

Once it is enabled, this feature will automatically sort your messages in different categories, facilitating the management of arrived mail and reducing unwanted mail or unwanted texts. You will be able to see the filtered messages by touching the buttons “Filters” in the upper left corner of the message application. With the Message Filling on, you will have access to the four main categories:
- All messages: Shows all your texts, regardless of the sender
- Known sender: Displays messages from contacts in your address book
- Unknown sender: Quotes messages from numbers not in your contacts
- Infected messages: Shows all the unread texts

Not only does this filtration system help organize your messages, but also reduces notifications from unknown sender, which potentially reduces the number of unwanted mail or unwanted texts.

How to recover deleted text messages on your iPhone or iPad
Now, let’s recover these deleted messages on the iPhone or iPad. For devices running iOS 16 later or ipados 16.1 or newer, you can download deleted conversations in the message app with the following steps:
If you have not included messaging filtering
- Open on the phone or ipad Application
- Tap Arrange In the upper left corner

- Select Show recently deleted In the falling menu
- You can either touch Recover everything In the lower right corner if you want to recover all deleted texts and then confirm your choice by touching Recover messages;
- Or you can touch individual text message You want to recover and then select Recover In the lower right corner and then confirm your choice by touching Recovery of the message

Never lose the record of text messages again by attaching them
If you have included messages of messages
- Open on the phone or ipad Application
- Tap Filters In the upper left corner
- Select Recently deleted

Note: Only messages and talks are deleted in the last 30-40 days. In addition, if you have deleted a message before you updated to iOS 16 or IPADOS 16.1 or newer, you cannot recover these messages or conversations.

If you start the latest OS, you should be able to easily recover the recently deleted messages.
