Pope suffers a breathing crisis in the middle of a battle of pneumonia: Vatican

Pope Francis experienced a bronchospasm that led to an episode of vomiting and inhalation, Vatican said. After the episode, the Pope began non -invasive ventilation and responded well to the Vatican.
The Vatican says the Pope has remained awake and oriented all the time throughout the day.
Before the episode, Pope Francis spent his morning alternating between prayer and respiratory physiotherapy. He also received the Eucharist.
Earlier today, Vice President JD Vance spoke of Pope at an annual breakfast for national prayer and said a prayer for the 88-year-old Pontiff. The vice president acknowledged their political differences, but said that he prayed for the Pope every day.
Vice President Vance invited the participants to join him in prayer for Pope Francis’ health. Vice -President said he hoped the Pope would go through his health struggles and shared something Pontif did when Covid hit him.
“I think we can all remember the moment of the Holy Father who stood on the empty St. Peter’s Square, holding the Eucharist above the head and maintaining a sermon to be consistently returned because it was incredibly meaningful at the time. It still remains meaningful,” Vance said before he continued to read a part of Homilia in March 2020.
