Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made a big claim about how Trent Alexander-Arnold and his team close to him are handling his transfer to Real Madrid.
It seems more and more likely that Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool for Real Madrid when his contract with the Reds expires at the end of the season.
Carragher seems to think it is now inevitable that Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool, as he described it as “when” he leaves, not if.
Liverpool make an AMAZING €85 million deal to replace a big name!
Watch below as the former LFC defender also suggested any talk of a Real Madrid bid in January would be called upon by his team to cover their backs when it comes to an eventual free transfer in the summer…
The most important thing for @LFC 2025 wins #Premier League
No one’s contract or future should stand in the way of that!
I love Trent as a boyfriend and a player but his team would tell Real Madrid to offer and they would know LFC would reject him.
Must try &…— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) December 31, 2024
Liverpool fans will be disappointed to see the Alexander-Arnold story unfold in this way, as it looks like they will be losing a world-class player, who came through their academy, for absolutely nothing.
Will other Liverpool stars follow Trent Alexander-Arnold away from Anfield?
Things could get even worse for Liverpool as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also out of contract.
Like, Alexander-Arnold, these star names could become free agents in just a few months, and they would also certainly have plenty of suitors to become available.
However, according to David Ornstein in the video below, there is maybe a little more hope that those two will stay…
Retaining two of the three star names could go down as a success for Liverpool, but the fact that they would be losing one of their homegrown talents when he is still in his prime makes it a particularly hard blow to take.
Still only 26 years old, Alexander-Arnold certainly still has many great years ahead of him at the highest level, and he will surely be a great asset for Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will also certainly not find it easy to replace such a unique player profile.
