Zaheer Khan emphasizes the differences between the Rahul Dravid coaching style and Gautam Gambhira

Former Indian Temp Zaheer Khan measured in contrasting coaching approaches Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhirsuggesting that the latter “flexible” strategy could create “insecurity” in Team India.

Zaheer’s comments come in the midst of a discussion about the Indian white ball strategy, especially regarding experimenting with different combinations of hitting in recent matches against England.

Gambhir’s flexible approach: a double blade sword

Zaheer emphasized the importance of clear communication and alignment between the coaches, the captain, the selector and the player for the gambhir approach to be successful1. Zaheer pointed out that the current dynamic situation makes it difficult to compare the Dravid and Gambhir approaches directly and that the whole system should be simplified that things do things without problems.

“That’s why I said that the bias of review is currently very strong. The situation has become dynamic if you have to compare the approach of Rahul Dravid and access to Gautama Gambhira.
