Manchester City have verbally agreed a new signing after Haaland’s contract was confirmed
Manchester City have verbally agreed to sign the “exceptional” new striker who has been one of Europe’s best players this season, according to a new report.
Manchester City are looking for reinforcements as Haaland signs a new contract
City shared good news with their fans on Friday by unveiling star striker Erling Haaland signed a new 10-year contract with the club, who will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2032. The Norwegian joined City from Dortmund in 2022 and has since scored 111 goals in 126 games, winning back-to-back Premier League Golden Boots.
The 24-year-old’s previous contract, which was understood to have included a release clause, was due to expire in 2027.
“I’m really happy to have signed my new contract and I can look forward to spending even more time at this great club,” Haaland said.
“Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing fans and it’s the type of environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.”
The 10-year contract is the longest in Premier League history, eclipsing the nine-year deal Cole Palmer signed with Chelsea in August last year.
“The fact that he has signed for so long shows our commitment to him as a player and his love for the club,” said City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain. “He has already made an incredible impact in his time here and his incredible numbers and records speak for themselves.”
The city verbally agreed to the Marmoush deal
Just after signing a new contract, Haaland could very soon have a new partner in attack at the Etihad in the form of Egyptian international Omar Marmoush. According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, City have reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for the transfer of Marmousha, who was one of the best European strikers this season.
The 25-year-old, who can operate as a striker or winger, has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 26 games for Frankfurt this season, averaging a goal every 61 minutes.

Plettenberg reports that the agreed fee for Marmoush is £68m – even more than they paid for Haaland – and that he will sign a contract until 2029. The deal is not yet fully finalised, however, with the Egyptian still to have his medical and key documents cleared they are still waiting.
Speaking of Marmoush, who was linked with a move to Chelsea before this season, he was described by former Liverpool and Germany star Dietmar Hamann as an “exceptional player” who is “an excellent finisher and possesses extraordinary speed”.
