Borussia Dortmund coach Sahin opened up on transfer window plans amid Rashford rumors
Borussia Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin says “anything can happen” in the January transfer window but warned the club “will not get carried away” following reports linking them with a loan move for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has spoken of his desire to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge after a miserable 18 months in which he struggled to hit top form and also hit the headlines for various off-field incidents.
It has been reported that the player’s entourage have embarked on a European tour which includes visits to AC Milan and Dortmund to discuss a potential move for Rashford.
Sahin is careful with activities
Sahin, whose side are sixth in the Bundesliga ahead of their return to action after the winter break this Friday against defending champions Bayer Leverkusen, says any new activity has to be right for the club.
When asked about the window, he said: “Anything can happen. In winter it is not as easy as in summer. We would be willing to do something, but we will only do it if it makes us better. We will not get carried away.”

Rashford may be too expensive
A deal for Rashford would not come cheap, with United reportedly hoping to shed responsibility for the bulk of the forward’s £325,000-a-week wages with the loan.
That could prove to be a major blocker for Dortmund, whose model is to sign young players with potential and turn them into a polished commodity.
Dortmund finished the first part of the season out of form with just one win in five games in all competitions.
But Sahin believes the visit of Xabi Alonso’s men will bring out the best in his players.
“A win would be extremely important for the table,” he added. “We are playing against a top opponent. We have always played well against these teams so far. We want to get into the flow for the new year with a good game.”
The hosts will be without Waldemar Anton and Almugera Kabar due to illness, Niklas Sule due to injury and Pascal Gross due to suspension.
