Cricket West Indies (CWI) has revealed the schedule for Bangladesh The upcoming women’s tour of the West Indies, marking a landmark event in the women’s cricket calendar. The tour, located on the picturesque island of St. Kitts, will feature a series of white-ball matches aimed at boosting both teams’ preparations for future international engagements.
An overview of the cue ball leg
The tour includes six matches, with three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 Internationals (T20Is), all to be held at the iconic Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts. ODIs are part of it ICC Women’s Championshipmaking them crucial for both teams in their bid to qualify for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup.
Significance for qualification
For West Indies, the WODI series holds special importance as they look to collect points in the ICC Women’s Championship. A strong performance here could secure automatic qualification for the World Cup, although there is still an opportunity through the qualifying tournament for teams that do not qualify directly.
“This series against Bangladesh is crucial for us as we continue our campaign in the 2025 ICC 50-over Women Championship. The ODI series carries significant weight for our World Cup qualification hopes, while the T20I matches will provide valuable preparation as we continue to build depth in our squad,” said the CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe as quoted by WindiesCricket.

Preparations and expectations
Both teams will have access to dedicated training sessions, scheduled in the mornings, afternoons and sometimes evenings, to ensure they are well prepared for matches. These training sessions are crucial for players to adapt to the conditions and for coaches to fine-tune strategies.
The Bangladeshi team will arrive in St. Kitts on January 14, giving them plenty of time to acclimatise to local conditions before the start of the series.
