Amad Diallo: Manchester United winger signs new contract to stay at Old Trafford until summer 2030 | Football news

Amad Diallo has signed a new contract with Manchester United that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030.

Sky Sports News reported in September that United wanted to tie down the 22-year-old on new terms, rather than trigger the 12-month option included in his previous contract.

Amad has emerged as a star player for United under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim after initially making a slow start to his career at Old Trafford after joining from Atalanta in 2020.

Amad scored at both the Etihad Stadium and Anfield to highlight his pedigree as United picked up four points away at Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks – and has now signed a five-and-a-half-year deal for his future at the club.

Amad said: “I’m really proud to sign this new contract. I’ve already had amazing moments with this club, but there’s a lot more to come. I have big ambitions in the game and I want to make history at Manchester United.

“I’ve learned so much since I arrived here four years ago; I’m very grateful to the coaches and staff who have helped me develop, as well as the fans for pushing me forward every day.

“It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right track and that the future will be really special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our fans proud again.”

Manchester United technical director Jason Wilcox said: “Everyone is delighted with Amad’s development; his quality on the ball, versatility and determination make him a key part of Manchester United’s future.

“He has the best years of his career ahead of him and we all look forward to helping Amado reach his immense potential and achieve success at the club in the coming seasons.”
