Meryl Streep cut a ‘car size hole’ in her neighbor’s fence to avoid the fire of Palisades
Meryl Streep experienced a close call while trying to evacuate from her home during Palisades fire earlier this month.
Meryl’s nephew, Abe Streep, wrote an article for New York magazine and shared that the tree fell on his aunt’s driveway, which blocked her only exit from her house.
“Mandates for the evacuation have been sent throughout the city,” Abe wrote. “My aunt Meryl Streep received an order for evacuation on January 8th, but when she tried to leave, she found that a large tree had fallen on her approach, blocking her only way out.
“Determined to make it, she borrowed wire cuttings from her neighbors, cut a hole of the car size in a fence she shared with her neighbors on the other side and drove through their yard to escape.”
Fox News Digital was addressed by representatives of Meryl Streep to comment.
For his piece in New York magazine, Abe also talked to Streep’s star “The only murder in the building”, Martin Shortabout his experience of evacuation.

Briefly, who moved to Neighborhood Pacific Palisades In 1984, he said to Abe, “I knew immediately that I wanted to live it. Five minutes from the ocean or five minutes from the biggest hiking in the mountains imaginative.”
Short told Abeu that his neighborhood safety was emphasized to Palisades.

Short explained that once he was informed for the evacuation, he collected family photo albums and got into his car. It took him an hour to leave the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades because of people leaving cars and blocking roads.

Short shared that he had not lost his home during the fire, but one of his sons who lives nearby. He also does not plan to leave his beloved Pacific Palisade.
“I will definitely stay in my home,” Short said.
Abe also talked to actor Haley Joel Osman, who lost fire to Eaton Fire.

The Osman told Abeu that he had lost 500 records and the piano his parents gave him for his 18th birthday. The “six -meaning” actor said his father lost his home as well.
“Not to throw blame or anything else, but I just want to know when this is all explored – did it make the decision to just let go of the whole neighborhood?” The Osmen asked.

The authorities announced 28 January, the number of fire deaths from the fire has increased to 29.
According to Cal FirePalisades fire destroyed 6,837 homes and other buildings and burned 23,448 hectares. From Tuesday morning, the fire was 95%.
Eaton fire destroyed 9,418 homes and other buildings, burned 14,021 hectares, and from Monday night the fire was 95% contained, accordingly officials.
