In an incredibly busy January transfer window so far, Manchester City now they have reportedly reached an agreement to sign another young defender after Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov.

Ahead of the transfer window, it was clear that Manchester City had to spend money after their most difficult season Pep Guardiola. Now, after 21 days, we got an answer to how they planned to spend that money, welcoming Khusanov and Reis along with Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush in a deal worth a reported €75m (£63m) this month.
Speaking with club website after putting pen to paper, Khusanov said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City, a club I have enjoyed watching for a long time.
“This team is full of the best players in the world and I can’t wait to meet them and play with them. And of course Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches ever and I am very excited to learn from him and improve my game even more.
“It is a very proud moment for me and my family to join a great club like Manchester City and I am more than ready for this challenge.”

However, those at the Etihad wasted no time before focusing on further reinforcements. According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have now reached a verbal agreement over the signing of Juma Bah from Real Valladolid.
The young defender, if the deal goes through, could reportedly go straight on loan to RC Lens, with whom Manchester City have an excellent relationship following the deal to sign Khusanov. In one move, Lens would get a replacement for Khusanov and City would get another future star.
“Promising” Bach is another one for the future
While there may be some concern that Manchester City have not gone in search of immediate improvements this month, what they have done is prepare for the future in what has been intelligent business. Reis, Khusanov and now Bah represent players who seemed destined to step into the limelight, and City acted before their prices showed it.

Reis, Khusanov and Bah could be the future of City’s backline, and even if they are not destined to make an immediate impact on Guardiola’s side, there is no doubt that their time will come, as is the case with most of the stars at the Etihad.
