Manchester United’s crisis ‘is not right’, says frustrated captain Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes says the current situation at Manchester United is “not right” and that any player who thinks so should move on.

United slumped to a dismal 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton yesterday, their sixth defeat in their last nine league games, with head coach Ruben Amorim admitting it may be “the worst team in Manchester United’s history”.

Amorim’s side were once again without a rudder and captain Fernandes demands the players to solve it, and quickly.

He told Sky Sports: “I understand the outside perspective. But we can’t get comfortable thinking it’s okay. It’s not.

“I’m not here to lose games and be in the position we’re in right now. But I know that no one is in that locker room, and if someone is, they can’t be here.”

Brighton’s win continued United’s dominance. The Seagulls have now won six of their last seven meetings, including all three at Old Trafford, but that was of no interest to Portuguese midfielder Fernandes.

He added: “I don’t care. It’s another loss for us. It doesn’t matter how many times they won against us.

“I remember that in the past they didn’t win here. It won’t change anything.

“The main thing that will change for us is that we didn’t take the three points today. All credit to them, they played a good game and deservedly won.”

United have a chance to bounce back on Thursday night when they host Rangers in the Europa League. Their next league game is next Sunday against Fulham.
