The Jewish couple says that a member of the School Board violated their freedom of speech by blocking the sign of yard

Jeff and Rachel Lobman did not expect to receive a return reaction when they set up a sign that “Jewish students deserve to be sure of the campus” in the courtyard of their home in Philadelphia’s suburbs. When their son was home from the Faculty of Winter Pause, Lobmans posted a sign to symbolize their solidarity with the students of the Faculty of Jewish who experienced anti -Semitism after the Hamas on October 7th.
The sign had a double meaning for the family. Next to your own Message against anti -SemitismThe pink color echoed with the lobs, because they are passionate to the proponents of breast cancer research.
Member of the Committee for the School School of Donji Merion (LMSD) Anna Shurak, who is a random neighbor of Lobmans, brought a question with the sign. According to Lobmans, before Shurak stretched out of them asking them to remove the sign, it was blocked by a stroller and dirt. In response, the Lobmans raised the sign, but Shurak then used the Philadelphia Eagles flag to block it for the second time.

The lobmans decided to contact local officials because Shurak served in a chosen position, and they believed that her blocking of the sign was the act of censorship that broke their rights to the first amendment. Jeff Lobman also expressed these frustration Fox News Digital, saying he was stunned that the chosen official felt he could censor free speech.
Shurak, which is also a JewIn the end, she set her own sign, the one who read “We believe that Black Lives Matter, no man is illegal, love is love, women’s rights are human rights, science is real, and water is life.” However, Shurak claimed in a deleted Facebook post to have a sign for eight years. The Lobmans were able to dispute their claim with pictures from their yard to Google Maps, one of which was only in July 2024, in which there is obviously no sign.

The Lobmans addressed local officials about the constant situation, one of whom was a lower member of the Committee of Commissioner Merion Gilda Kramer. Jeff Lobman later described the conversation with Kramer as “invasive and disturbing”, saying that the commissioner asked them to change the sign as they speak in his official capacity.
In February, Lobmani presented their case during a meeting of the Committee of the Commissioner. In his presentation, Jeff Lobman told the Committee that “the net effect of Anni’s procedures was to reduce our free speech and convey that her message was valuable, and ours was not, a similar topic of something we learned that she had publicly advocated in her chosen role.”
However, the sign attracted the attention of other neighbors, who began to talk to lobs about what was happening in the local school neighborhood.
When they set up a sign, Lobmans, who have a child in a private school, did not realize that in the local school district, which is underway to treat anti -Semitism.
“A few weeks ago, a community meeting was held that Jewish children did not feel safe in the schools of Ninja Merion, who emphasized the disturbing incident of verbal and physical attacks,” Jeff Lobman told the committee. “We took a relationship with our sign and realized how much Anna was wrong to censor the current local issue in the political campaign.”

Jeff and Rachel Lobman were not alone in their concern about free speech. Steve Rosenberg, a Jewish community counselor who performed the post of regional director Philadelphia for the North American Institute for Values, agreed.
“The idea that a chosen member of the School Board would go to such a length to interfere with a sign that simply state that” Jewish students deserve to be sure of the campus “is extraordinarily worrying – this is awful. This incident is not only in the sign; it is a growing and dangerous trend of silenced by Jewish voices under the guidance of peace. “We cannot allow this kind of intimidation to fit, especially in a district where parents are already deeply concerned about anti -Semitism,” Steve Rosenberg told Fox News Digital.
Shurak did not immediately respond to Fox News request for comment.
