Two Israeli soldiers were killed in the northern occupied west coast after Palestinian opened a fire on a security checkpoint before being shot.
In a statement, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday that the attack occurred at the Tayasir control point near Jenin on the northern west coast.
Israeli Ynet Outlet reported that the attacker, armed with the M-16 automatic rifle, opened a fire from the immediate vicinity of the soldiers coming out of the established bunker, leading to a shooting that lasted for a few minutes.
According to the Israeli ambulance service, eight soldiers were also injured in the attack.
The incident occurred during the period of enhanced tension on the west coast, with large Israeli operations in progress in Governor Jenin, including a refugee camp in the city, in tulcarem, as well as other areas.
The Israeli army launched a large offensive called “Iron Wall” on the territory last month, shortly after a truce was agreed in Gaza.
Israel also tightened its measures at existing control points and raised new ones on the occupied west coast. At least 900 such checkpoints, gates and dirt were cut off by Palestinian communities and launched a movement next to the impossible between villages, cities and cities.
The deadly Israeli rags continued for 15 days in Jenin, nine in Tulkarem and three in Tubas, where there were two places on Tuesday morning. At least 70 Palestinians were killed and dozens were wounded and detained by Israeli forces this year. The picture includes 44 people killed since the Israeli army launched its latest operation.

UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said the Jenin refugee camp is heading in a “catastrophic direction” after a new Israeli military operation has leveled several buildings.
A spokeswoman for UNRWA Juliette Touma told reporters in Geneva that the Israeli forces were “completely destroyed in a series of detonations by Israeli forces.”
Israeli attacks at a refugee camp in Tulkarem displaced three quarters of the Palestinians from the area, said the head of the popular Camp Services Committee.
Doctors without borders, known for the French initials of MSF, condemned Israeli attacks on Monday.
“Since the truce was carried out in Gaza, there was an escalation of extreme violence that appeared on the western coast, especially in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas. This is unacceptable,” said the organization in the post on X.
He warned that the Israeli blockade on Jenin caused by liquid surgery leads to a lack of “vital” stock.
