Trump retaliates against Colombia for refusing deportation flights

President Donald Trump hit back at Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Sunday after Petro’s regime refused to allow US deportation flights to land in his country.

“I have just been informed that two repatriation flights from the United States, carrying large numbers of illegal criminals, were not allowed to land in Colombia. This order was given by Colombia’s socialist president, Gustavo Petro, who is already very unpopular with his people,” Trump wrote on social networks.

“Petro’s denial of these flights threatened the national security and public safety of the United States, so I have directed my administration to immediately take the following immediate and decisive retaliatory measures:
-25% emergency tariffs on all goods coming into the United States. In a week, the 25% tariffs will be raised to 50%.

– Travel ban and immediate visa revocation of Colombian government officials, all allies and supporters.

-Visa sanctions for all party members, family members and supporters of the Colombian government.

-Increased customs and border protection inspections of all Colombian citizens and cargo for reasons of national security.

-IEEPA treasury, banking and financial sanctions to be introduced in full.

These measures are just the beginning. We will not allow the Colombian government to violate its legal obligations to accept and return criminals they have forced into the United States!” he wrote.

This is a developing story. Check back soon for updates.
