The six-day funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter began on Saturday with a motorcade through his country. Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia, on December 29 at the age of 100 and is scheduled to be buried next to his late wife Rosalynn Carter after being laid to rest in the US Capitol.
