Meghan ‘devastated’ after rescue dog’s death
The Duchess of Sussex has said she is “devastated” after the death of her dog Guy.
In a post on Instagram, Meghan said she had “cried too many tears to count” over the dog’s death and thanked him for “so many years of unconditional love”.
The duchess said she adopted a beagle from an animal rescue center in Canada in 2015 and that he has “been by my side for everything” ever since.
She did not say when the dog died or the cause of death.
They accompanied the announcement with a montage of photos and videos showing the Duchess and her family playing with Guy.
In one, she is seen boiling fruit on the stove to make jam and saying to the dog, “Let’s sing, Guy.” Another shows her husband, the Duke of Sussex, running with him on the beach.

At the end, Meghan can be heard singing with one of the couple’s children: “We love you, boy, yes we do.”
The duchess said the staff at the shelter she adopted the dog from “called him ‘little’ because he was so small and weak”.
“So I called him ‘Guy.’ And he was the best boyfriend any girl could ever want,” she said.
“He was with me in Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom….
“He was with me for everything: silence, chaos, peace, comfort.”
The Duchess added that Guy will appear in her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
“I hope you understand why I’m so devastated by his loss. I think you might fall in love a little too,” she said.
“I’ve cried too many tears to count—the kind of tears that make you shower with the absurd hope that the water running down your face will somehow make you not feel or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And it’s in ok
“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my dear Guy. You have filled my life in ways you will never know.”
