The Manchester City Cup could be worth ‘up to one million pounds’ for Plymouth after Liverpool upset
“When we played Liverpool eight years ago, Anfield had just over 50,000 – we earned around £ 700,000.
“So, I think we should do a little better this time. Etihad that I believe has a capacity of about 62,000, so we think it should be between £ 600,000 and 1 million.
“It won’t mean as much as we did when we played Liverpool.
“When we played Liverpool eight years ago, that £ 700,000 represented about a third of our football budget, but today our football budget is much of what it was then, so it won’t be so significant.
“Much more important than money – and the money will be beautiful – it will be a great day for at least 15,000 of our fans.”
