Steven Gerrard left Al -ettifaq with a mutual consent after a disappointing 18-month spell with the Saudi Arabian club.
Former Liverpool and England midfielder Gerrard goes with a club headquartered in Dammam 12. In the 18 team league, only five points outside the relegation zone.
Al -ettifaq has won only two of his last 14 pro-league matches, and fans’ frustrations on their sliding down the table have become more intense in recent weeks.
“Football is unpredictable and sometimes things don’t go the way we want it,” Gerrard said.
“However, I go with great respect for the club and the country. I have no doubt that the job that will be done will bring success in the future and I want the team best for the rest of the season.”
The president of the Ettifaq club, the same al Misehal said: “Sometimes things are not going as planned, but the solid foundations he helped construction will guarantee a bright future in the long run.
“He changed the club for the better and it will never be forgotten. This decision, made with respect, is at the best of the interest of both Steven and the club as we go forward.”

Gerrard led the club to a sixth -ranked end in its only whole season, and was awarded a two -year extension of the contract in January 2024. Worth £ 300,000 per week.
However, cracks began to appear at the beginning of this season, and his assistant Dean Holden and sports director Mark Allen fired.
Speculations have already suggested that Gerrard is okay to return to Rangers, with whom he won the Scottish premiere 2020-21 and denied the Celtic tenth consecutive league title.
