As Manchester United are preparing to rebuild under a new manager, INEOS is reportedly refusing to rule out selling the young player who Reuben Amorim is currently satisfied.

This is not just the beginning of the season either. The campaign is in the new year, we’re past Christmas and even Amorim couldn’t rule out a shock relegation battle
Now in a moment of despair, Amorim are reportedly demanding Sir Jim Ratcliffe sign Viktor Gyokeres already this month in an attempt to save Manchester United’s season. However, when it comes to money, it seems unlikely that the Red Devils co-owner would fork out as much as £80m to sign the Sporting Club striker in the January transfer window.
Instead, Ratcliffe’s focus may turn back to fundraising. According to GiveMeSport, INEOS refuses to rule out selling Tyrell Malacia although Amorim is currently happy with the defender.
The left-back has endured a string of injury problems in recent years but has shown enough form to suggest he is worth waiting for during his debut season in 2022/23.
However, still struggling with fitness, INEOS could listen to offers as Juventus begin to circle Malacia’s signature and prepare for his potential availability this month.

Given how Manchester United have struggled for options on the left – often turning to Diogo Dalot out of position – showing Malacia the door would surely be a controversial move.

Still only 25 and trying to bounce back from an injury nightmare, not even Ratcliffe’s ruthlessness should stand in Malacia’s way and play a role in Amorim’s plans. The left-back spot is up for grabs and when he returns to full fitness, the Dutchman could grab the opportunity with both hands ahead of the equally injury-prone Luke Shaw.
Amorim was quick to praise Malacia when he returned from a long-term injury against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League earlier this season, telling reporters, per Tribal Football: “It was huge for him and I think he did really well. He hasn’t played in over a year, but he was so brave on the ball that I’m really happy for him.”
INEOS has a lot of other issues to sort out before it can show players like Malacia that gates also become a priority. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a clinical striker and would certainly do well with a back line capable of flourishing in the back three. Of course, left-back needs to be addressed, but the return of Malacia should play a role in solving that problem.
