Donald Trump is considering 10% tariffs on China from February
US President Donald Trump has said he is considering imposing a 10 percent tariff on imports of Chinese-made goods as early as February 1.
Trump said the discussions with his administration were “based on the fact that they are sending fentanyl to Mexico and Canada.”
This was followed by Trump’s threat to impose 25% import taxes on Mexico and Canada, accusing them of allowing undocumented migrants and drugs into the US.
On his first day in office, the new president also ordered federal agencies to conduct a review of existing trade agreements and identify unfair practices by America’s trading partners.
