Christina Aguilera shuts down haters as Ozempic rumors swirl
Christina Aguilera starts the new year with an important message.
On Tuesday, the Grammy Award winner released a video montage on her Instagram which featured various shots of herself over the course of the year and plenty of comments from online haters questioning her physical appearance rumors about Ozempic use. In the caption, Aguilera reminded her 10 million followers that while judgments are inevitable, “nobody deserves an explanation.”
“This year I’m doing something a little different. This is a reminder to everyone that YOU ARE THE STORYTELLER in YOUR OWN LIFE,” she wrote. “No one else can dictate who you are. No one deserves an explanation. I’m evolved enough to know that nothing comes easy and nobody is perfect.”
“Everyone is going to judge you. No matter WHAT you do,” she continued. “And/or what you don’t. Acceptance comes with accepting yourself first. And the difficult journey it sometimes takes to get there. I celebrate anyone who takes the time each day to take one step in front of the next to build the next version of themselves for the better Allowing yourself grace, patience and respect.”
Although Aguilera’s appearance sparked a debate online about whether she was involved with Ozempica, the “Beautiful” singer did not directly address the speculation.
Ozempic, a semaglutide injection, was originally approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to treat type 2 diabetes, but the drug is increasingly being prescribed for weight loss, along with several other similar drugs.

In August, the pop singer – who is mum to Max, 16, and Summer, 10 – opened up about the pressure she faced to look a certain way throughout her career.
“When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s,” she said said Glamour. “I started bulking up, and then it was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting fatter.’ Then I had people from the industry saying, ‘They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager’.”
“I’m at an age now where I just don’t care about your opinion,” she added. “I won’t take it. It must be your responsibility to take your space. Other people’s opinions of me are none of my business.”
In May 2021, Aguilera said Health magazine how these certain pressures affected her confidence as a young woman.

“I would never want to relive my 20s — you’re so in your own head and looking for confidence,” Aguilera said. “As you get older, you stop comparing yourself to other people and start appreciating and owning your own body.”
“Accepting yourself is what beauty really is,” she added. “As much as I love being a glamor girl and playing dress-up in front of the cameras, when it’s all over, that’s what’s most rewarding in the end – being able to feel really good about who’s staring at you in the mirror, because I own everything.”
