Bill Maher told actor he ‘woke up crazy’ for refusing to ‘judge’ Islam over its treatment of women
Bill Maher called the “Two and a Half Men” star. Jon Cryer “woke up crazy” after the actor refused to criticize Islam for its strict dress code for women while on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast on Sunday.
The show got off to a rocky start after Maher brought up the presidential election, and Cryer dismissed Maher’s claim that the issue of illegal immigration has hurt the Democratic Party.
Maher started with the decline of Western standards in areas such as London, where nearly 4 million people identify as Muslim in 2021 census.
He referred to a “60 Minutes” report in which a woman was “screamed” for walking through a Muslim quarter in London while wearing a skirt.

“The point was that there are places in Western civilizations that are not run by Western standards, and that doesn’t mean they’re just different,” he told Cryer.
“We should agree that women should be able to wear what they want,” Maher continued. “If you don’t agree with that, you are he is not a liberal to begin with.”
Cryer dismissed Maher’s claim, saying that while he agreed that women should be able to wear whatever they wanted, there were many places in the world where women didn’t have the freedom to dress however they wanted.
“They kept getting called in a lot of places,” Cryer claimed, to which Maher scoffed.
“A lot of s— has been going on, but what’s going on in the world now?” Maher replied. “Would you really want your wife to live in Gaza or [somewhere else] where would she have to cover herself?”

Cryer was reluctant to criticize the strict rules for women in these places, saying “it’s not my culture”.
“You’re not going to judge it?” Maher asked.
“I won’t judge it,” Cryer replied. “Not.”
“That’s crazy to me,” Maher noted.
The talk show host, who has often railed against the far left, said liberals who embrace intolerance in the name of diversity have “gone off the rails”.

“That’s where it went off the rails, when we became so tolerant that we tolerate intolerance,” Maher said. You would never let something like that happen in this country.
Later, the couple discussed because of “woke” politics within the Democratic Party and illegal immigration that hurt Democrats in the election.
Maher argued that “stupid vigilantism” led to Trump’s re-election along with the Biden administration’s open border policies.
Cryer, who joked he had a “stupid wake up call” at the start of the show, claimed the real reason why President-elect Donald Trump won the election because Americans hated inflation, black women and transgender people.
“I think Americans hate inflation. They hate inflation, they hate riots, they hate black women and they hate trans people. They just spent hundreds of millions of dollars demonizing trans people and it’s disgusting,” Cryer remarked to Maher’s dismay.
“Oh Jon,” Maher sighed heavily. – We shouldn’t talk about politics.
