Biden family’s farewell pardons send ‘terrible message’, former Obama spokeswoman says
Obama’s former spokesman joins a bipartisan chorus of critics calling out the former President Biden for pardoning his family members a few moments before leaving duty.
“Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his family sends a terrible message to the world,” said Tommy Vietor on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Wednesday.
“I think the president’s pardon power is too broad. I would like to see Congress come together and pass a constitutional amendment that says you can’t pardon yourself, you can’t pardon your family, you can’t pardon your staff.”

“The Democratic Party has had a rough cycle,” he told host Jesse Watters. “Democrats are bad. We need a new generation of leaders. We need to tell people who we are and what we stand for.”
As Trump moves into action after taking office, Vietor warned Republicans, “Now is the time to shut up or delay.”
