It is the most deadly air disaster on American soil over 20 years.

The United States last year without a A fatal collision of a commercial airline. The last deadly collision of an American commercial passenger airline took place in February 2009 when Continental Flight 3407 crashed into a house while arrived at Buffalo in New York, killing all 49 people on board and one person on Earth.

Investigators will examine everything from air traffic controls, training records, voice recorders and data to black boxes if and when discovered, along with many other factors.
