It is unclear where the offer came from.
It remains unclear what Ewers plans to do when Texas’ season ends — national championship or not. Signs pointed to Ewers turning pro as he is expected to be one of the top running backs in the 2025 draft class with Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.
Most of the questions about Texas running backs entering the transfer portal have focused on the redshirt freshman Arch Manning. On Monday, he shot down rumors that this had happened.

“I mean, I really don’t have any plans to enter the portal or anything,” said the redshirt freshman, via Suparnik. “So I really don’t know about that, all the windows and everything.”
Notre Dame was examined by ua Sports Illustrated spot as a possible landing spot for Ewers since the team needs to see Riley Leonard depart after this season. However, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman said the team has no plans to go on the transfer portal for the quarterback.
Ewers committed to Texas in 2020, but decommitted and joined Ohio State. He took just two snaps with the Buckeyes in 2021 before transferring to Texas for the 2022 season.
