Sam at sea for 95 days, the Peruvian fisherman attacked hope
For 95 days, Máximo Napa Castro, 61, was alone and lost himself at sea, praying to God and clinging to hope that he would one day see his mother again.
Without food or water, he ate cockroaches, birds and finally a turtle, whose blood he drank to rush thirst.
He talked to God, angry at the points. “I told him,” What will I find here? “, He said.” Who will save me? “
Then he asked for forgiveness.
“Someone comes or comes a helicopter,” he recalled thinking. “And then the helicopter sent me the next day.”
It was March 12, and Mr. Nado Castro, a Peruvian fisherman, noticed the crew of the Ecuadorian ship tuna hundreds of kilometers from the Peruvian coast, the Peruvian news source of news RPP news reported.

To catch a turtle was the main break, he said, but he didn’t like he had to kill her. “That’s either you or I,” he recalled.
Mr. Nado Castro’s daughter, Ines Napa Torres, told RPP News that local fishermen were looking for her father, to no avail. She said the family also invited the authorities to perform an air search. His ship did not have a radio lighthouse, which would make it easier to locate, RPP News reported.
Still, said Mrs. Napa Torres RPP news“We, as a family, have never lost faith – hope – that we will find my father.”
After noticed by a tuna boat, Mr. Napa Castro helicopter took him to the ship of Peruvian Coast Guard, where he was provided with medical assistance, according to the Peruvian Navy, which posted a photo on the photo Instagram the drug that heals it.
Mrs. Napa Torres said her father had burned and dehydrated. She called it a “miracle” he survived.
On Friday, Mr. Napa Castro embarked on a dock in Peru and was embraced by his brother, who was there to greet him, he showed the video. They both cried.
“I didn’t want to die, for my mother,” Mr. Napa Castro told reporters through tears. “I have a two -month granddaughter. I clung to her. Every day I thought about my mother.”
Later, Mr. Napa Castro told reporters that he was looking forward to the domestic meal, Arroz Con pollo, a pork stew called Carapulcra and a meal with noodles called Sopa Sec.
He also welcomed home with CelebrationWhere his friends, relatives and neighbors cheered him with a cake decorated with decorative birds, cockroaches and turtles.
His mother, Elena Castro, who was sitting next to his celebration, said she prayed to see her son again.
“I said to God: Is he alive or dead, bring him here, even if only seeing him,” she said Andina. “But my daughters have never lost their faith. They kept telling me, ‘Mom, they will come back; they will come back.'”
