India International Axar Patel is the last captain of the IPL 2025, which has been named Delhi Capitals, publishes a delay.
The Indian comprehensive Axar Patel was named Captain Delhi Capitals in Captain Delhi on the movement of the new season of the Indian Premier League, the team said.
The 31-year-old is a player with the longest service of the team, joined in 2019. He scored 967 runs and picked up 62 wickekets at an economic rate of 7.09 in 82 appearances with the capital.
Axar, who was named Indian International Captain Twenty20 in January, takes the captain of Delhi from Rishabh Pant after moving to Lucknow Super Giants.
“It is an absolute honor to the captain of the capital in Delhi and I am deeply grateful to our owners and the auxiliary staff for setting their faith in me,” Axar said in a statement on Friday.
“I grew up as a cricket and a human being during my time here in the capital cities, and I feel ready and confident that I lead this side forward.”
Axar also played a key role in the Indian victory of the Trophy champion earlier this month, taking five hicks at a rate of 4.35 and giving key contributions to the number five.
The capital cities begin their IPL campaign in Visakhapatama on March 24 against Lucknow.
Kolkat Knight Riders, the only other team that had to announce his skipper, named Ajinkya Rahane as a new captain March 3.
