Iraq says “dangerous” leader Isil -a Abu Khadija killed | ISIL/ISIS News
Prime Minister Al-Sudani welcomes the murder of Abdallah Makki Makki al-Rufay’i as the main blow to the remains of ISIL in Iraq.
Iraqi security forces killed the ISIL leader (ISIS) of the Iraqi security group with the support of the Coalition against ISIL under the leadership of the United States, the Iraqi Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani said on Friday that Abdallah Makki Makki al-Rufay’i, also known as Abu Khadi, Iraqi security forces killed, with the support of the U.S. ISIL coalition.
“The Iraqi continues their impressive victories over the forces of darkness and terrorism,” Sudani wrote in a statement of X, adding that Abu Khadija was “one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world.”
In 2017, Iraq proclaimed a victory over ISIL, reciprocating all the territories that the armed group had controlled since the summer of 2014, which is estimated to be a third of the country’s territory.
However, the group still maintains bedrooms in large areas in Iraq and occasionally triggers attacks.
The announcement on Friday coincided with the temporary Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad Al-Shaibani, who visited Iraq, where he said that his government was ready to “enhance cooperation” in the fight against ISIL remains.
“Safety is a common responsibility,” Al-Shaibani said at a press conference together with Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad. “We are ready to strengthen the cooperation with Iraq in the fight against Daesh [an Arabic acronym for ISIL] along the entire length of the border. Terrorism does not know the boundaries, “the official news agency of INA reported.
He also said one goal of visits to improve the trade between the two countries on Friday, and the reopening of the border will be the fundamental step in this.
Iraq closed the border on security grounds after an offensive of lightning that broke the Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in December.
The relationships between neighbors are complex from the removal of Al-Assad, who was a close ally of the Baghdad government.
Although Iraq is a strategic partner of the United States, it is also a key ally of Iran. Some Iraqi armed groups fought for defending the reign of Al-Assad during the Syrian 13-year-old civil war, which began with the suppression of security forces at the protests of democracy in 2011.
Syrian temporary President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who sought to present a moderate picture since his coming to power, once fought with Al-Qaid in Iraq against US forces and their allies.
