The main Caribbean earthquake triggers the Cunami Cuba Alerts, Puerto Rico


The powerful earthquake of Magnitude 7.6 hit the Caribbean Sea that launched a tsunamia warnings for numerous countries, US geological research said.

Officials say the epicenter of the earthquake is about 20 miles (32.1 km) north of Honduras and 130 miles (209.2 km) southwest of the Kajman islands.

Numerous tsunami warnings have been published for the region, including the coast of Colombia, Kajman Islands, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba.

The National Meteorological Service warned of potential hazards for Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands, adding: “Strong currents and waves dangerous for those in or near water.”

USGS said big earthquakes at this point are not unexpected in the board.
