Skydiver breaks death in Arizona after the parachute has not been deployed, police says
46-year-old man in Arizona died while On Saturday after power, they say that he suffered a “difficult landing” when his parachute was not deployed, an incident that comes just eight days after the death of the second parachute in the same area.
Officers found Shawn Bowen of Gibert, Arizona, dead of injuries he sustained during a landing near Hanna and Tweedy Road after receiving a parachute report “who experienced a hard -to -landing” Eloy Police Department said.
Bowen jumped around 11:40 in the morning using “wing type,” police said, citing preliminary data.
“During the free fall, for the reasons that remained unknown at the moment, his parachute was not deployed, which resulted in fatal influence,” the police said.
Investigators interview witnesses and coordinate with Federal Air Force Administration, (FAA), which he says is a common practice.
Police said Bowen’s wife had been informed of his death.
The autopsy is scheduled for later in the week, as police are still exploring all the factors that have contributed to the accident.
Bowen’s death comes only eight days after the police in Eloja answered the death of another parachute.
Ann Wick, a 55-year-old Minnesota resident, died while a parachute in Skydive Arizona on January 24th in Eloya after experiencing complications during descent, police said.
Skydive Arizona said at the time that eyewitness accounts showed that the free fall of Wick parachute seemed normal, and the parachute was distributed as expected. Despite the parachute that is completely distributed, the observers noticed that “the canopy is turning,” the company said.
Witnesses said to the company that the parachute did not seem to take corrective actions, and the reserve parachute was not distributed.
