Barcelona have tried again to re-register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The Catalan giants announced that they had submitted applications for Olmo and Victor to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) just hours before the midnight registration deadline.
Barcelona also denied claims that it had asked governing bodies for a delay in their registrations.
In a short statement, the club said: “Barcelona informs that it has submitted a request to the RFEF for a new license for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor.
“The club wishes to deny that it has requested or received a moratorium from any governing body for these signs.”

On Monday, Barcelona lost a second appeal to register players for the rest of the season after the club could not meet La Liga’s salary cap.
If the 27-time league winners fail in their final bid, Olmo and Victor will be free agents at the deadline.
They could, however, meet the economic conditions to sign both players before the transfer window closes in February but, according to Rfef rules, a player cannot be signed by the same club twice in the same season.
Olmo, who featured prominently for Spain during this summer’s Euro 2024 triumph, has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave if the club fail to register him.
Barcelona signed the 26-year-old attacking midfielder from RB Leipzig in August for around £45m, but he was only registered for the first half of the season.
The club was initially able to sign both Olmo and Victor due to long-term injuries to the first-team players, which allowed Barcelona, under La Liga rules, to temporarily use up to 80% of a player’s salary on an alternative in case of injury. .
However, due to La Liga registration delays caused by Barcelona’s ongoing financial problems, Olmo missed the first two games of the season.
The current situation with Olmo and Victor is another chapter in the club’s ongoing financial saga as they continue to flout La Liga’s financial rules.
Leading Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim the club have already explored other ways of raising revenue that would boost their hopes of being able to re-register players, including selling VIP seats at the refurbished Camp Nou stadium.
