Former Obama aide questions Biden’s masculinity after last-second family pardons

Former Obama aide David Axelrod attacked former President Biden on Tuesday for issuing preemptive pardons for members of his family, arguing that he should “get his act together” and face accountability.

“That was outrageous, 10 minutes before the inauguration they announced that he was pardoning his family members. I mean, man! You know what I mean? Man, and if you’re going to do it, do it, but don’t. Don’t literally do it with one foot out. so you don’t have to explain it or be responsible for it, and what they’ve done is they’ve given Trump a gift for screwing up the story, J6 is talking for him, and you heard him last night,” Axelrod said during his podcast, “Hacks on Tap”, like reports Mediaite.

Minutes before President Trump was sworn in, Biden’s White House announced that the president will preemptively pardon several members of his family on his way out.

“Could you end a presidency as bad as he did? I mean, Trump did,” Axelrod added.

Axelrod’s co-host, Mike Murphy, agreed with Axelrod about the timing and politics and said it “showed a lack of balls.” However, Murphy said some of the pardons may have been justified, citing Trump’s attacks.

The former Obama adviser agreed, repeating his earlier thesis.

“Just call the hell out and say I’m doing this for this guy [Trump] He threatened my family, he threatened these people who quit their jobs, I mean, man!” Axelrod added.

Biden’s pardon applies to James Biden, Sarah Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John Owens and Francis Biden, the Biden White House announced Monday. The president claimed that his family could be the subject of “politically motivated investigations”.

The pardons came after House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer requested that Trump’s Justice Department investigate and prosecute James Biden for allegedly making false statements to Congress.

Axelrod said the way the Biden White House went about this made it look “particularly sleazy.”

“It was mind-boggling to me that they did it the way they did,” Axelrod said.

President Trump reacted to the move, saying it made Biden look guilty.

“Now, maybe every president who leaves office will pardon every person they’ve ever met,” he said. “I guess now I have a precedent to do that. I wouldn’t want to do that, no. I think it makes you look very guilty. I think it makes Biden look very bad, very weak and very guilty.”
