Texas mother charged after lying in cold weather with two babies: HCSO
AND Texas mother is facing charges after she was found lying outside with her two young children in freezing temperatures.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a 911 call about a woman with children outside at 12062 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday.
A caller reported the three were lying on the sidewalk during what forecasters described as historic snowfall in the area.
When the deputies answeredthey found a woman and her children aged one and two months. Both babies suffered cold injuries and were treated immediately, the sheriff’s office said.

The mother was showing signs of intoxication, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, and still is accused of endangering a child.
Local news outlets also reported that the woman was allegedly dozing on the ground and that an open alcoholic drink was found near her. Temperatures in Houston were recorded at 28 degrees early Tuesday morning and snow piled up on the ground.

A big part Houston area saw two to four inches of snow starting Monday night, with several areas reporting as much as five inches.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing, leaving icy roads dangerous.
