A major US airport could be renamed after Donald Trump
Travelers arriving in Music City may soon be welcomed at Trump International Airport.
On Friday, Republican Tennessee State Representative Todd Warner introduced House Bill 217, which would change the name Nashville International Airport in honor of Trump.
The law would require the Metropolitan Airport Authority to take action to effectuate the name change.
These actions would include posting new signage, changing registered trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), revising all existing contracts and legal documents to reflect the new name, and updating references with local, state and federal agencies.

During the transition period, the bill says the airport can operate under its current name with the label “doing business as Trump International Airport” or “d/b/a Trump International Airport.”
If passed, the law would take effect on January 1, 2026.
This is not the first time that the legislator is in favor of renaming airport after Trump.

As recently as April 2024, a group of House Republicans also pushed to rename Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia after Trump.
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., the House Republican’s top deputy, introduced the bill, along with six co-sponsors.
“In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump,” Reschenthaler told Fox News Digital. “As millions of domestic and international travelers fly through an airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity and strength than to hear ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they touch down on American soil.”
If passed, it will be the second D.C. airport to be named after a Republican commander-in-chief Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.
