Omar Marmoush will receive huge wages at Man City


Omar Marmoush is set to become one of Manchester City’s highest earners when it’s his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed, according to German reports.

City’s stunning slump this season has prompted those in charge at the Etihad Stadium to open their chequebooks. Central defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis are set to arrive for more than £60m combined, while Juventus right back Andrea Cambiaso is connected to a similarly expensive switch.

At the other end of the field, City reached an agreement worth an initial £63.4m, plus a further £4.2m in bonuses, for Marmoush, who was left out of the Frankfurt squad on Friday night as talks over his departure drew to a close.

It is a significant expenditure, but City they also allegedly gave huge salaries to Marmoush. Sky Sports Germany claims he will earn close to £275,000-a-week at the Etihad Stadium – a huge increase from his reported £32,000 salary in Frankfurt.

Such a figure would put Marmoush among City’s top earners. His main competitor for minutes, Erling Haaland, tops the charts with a weekly salary of around £500,000 after signing his mammoth new contract.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva are said to earn over £300,000 a week, with Marmoush’s wages higher than Phil Foden, Rodri, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan.

After being left out of the Frankfurt squad on Friday, Marmoush joined his team’s celebrations on the pitch and posted a photo on social media after the game with the caption ‘Forever in my heart’.
