Natural ecosystem element: LA fires ‘so intense, violent, brutal that recovery is problematic’

The two wildfires still burning in Los Angeles have burned more urban areas than any other wildfire in the state since at least the mid-1980s. Experts say several factors could lead to wildfires hitting cities more often. Urban areas continue to expand into wilderness.
