Back to group riding! – BionicOldGuy
I figured my stamina was back enough to try my group ride on Tuesday. We did one of my favorite rides – “around the reservoir” plus an out and back on Casa Loma Road. I rode lying down because it’s easier on my back and less likely to cause my stenosis to worsen. If necessary, I used electric assistance to keep up. and I had enough battery to last me through the ride. A very pleasant ride on a beautiful late autumn day.
After the ride was over, I had a weird fall coming off the bike. When I swung my leg over it, it caught on the frame tube, temporarily balancing on one leg. Before I lost it, I fell backwards, hitting my back (near my sacrum) and my head on the pavement. Fortunately, the helmet saved me. So now I have a new helmet (not a good idea to reuse it after a hard impact). Also a sore back, which should go away in a day or two. It’s time for more balance work!
