The Indian women’s team made history in the 3rd and final ODI of the series against Ireland in many senses. But more importantly, it was a solid performance from the team who achieved a record win and confirmed their dominance over the Irish team. The dominance of the team also came to light in the form of the Indian team and the unbeaten streak at home.

India put together an incredible total against Ireland

The match started with India winning the toss and electing to bat first. India’s innings got off to a flying start with the openers Smriti Mandhan and Practice Rawal attacking the Irish bowlers and put together an important partnership that lasted 26.4 overs. The two openers put on a mammoth 233-run partnership for the first wicket to provide India with a base for a mammoth total. Mandhana, the stand-in captain of the Indian team made history by scoring the fastest century for Indian women’s cricket in the ODI format off just 70 balls. The innings was star-studded with 12 boundaries and 7 sixes before he was dismissed by the side Orla Prendergast.

But the Indian onslaught continued, Rawal and the keeper Richa Ghosh he continued to smash the Irish bowlers and scored 337 runs with 13 overs to spare. Rawal impressed the cricketing community with her impeccable shot selection and technique with which she bowled 129 balls for 154 runs.

A terrible display from the Irish batsmen for a humiliating defeat

After the bowlers were beaten, it was time for the Irish batsmen to continue the horror show.
