Mumbai Indians share priceless reaction to Jasprit Bumrah’s latest ICC milestone

During his career, Jasprit Bumrah he won the hearts of the cricketing world with his emphatic pace bowling. The Indian pace sensation was at the peak of his powers during the 5-match Test series in India vs Australia. Bumrah had an outstanding run with the ball as he took 32 wickets even though Australia were defeated India 3-1 in the series. With his bowling display, Bumrah managed to secure Player of the series award for himself despite conceding just a few overs in the last Test match in Sydney.

Bumrah’s latest ICC achievement

Since the world saw his bowling prowess during Granica-Gavaskar Trophythe record books need to be revised here and there with Bumrah’s name. The 31-year-old’s player rating has reached dizzying heights and the Indian pacer has even managed to claim the top spot in the ICC Player Rankings for bowlers in Test cricket with a career-high 908.

Besides, Bumrah recently received an award ICC Player of the Month for December 2024 for his exceptional bowling display. Bumrah managed to beat stiff competition from Pat Cummins and Dane Paterson to win the coveted title. The Indian pacer was awarded player of the month for his outstanding bowling performance 22 doors in the whole month with an average of 14.22.

Reactions and celebratory posts poured in from all over the cricketing world after the ICC awarded Bumrah as the player of the month for December 2024. However, his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians shared a post on social media celebrating Bumrah’s achievement which instantly became a talking point among cricket fans and analysts. A viral social media post mentioned Bumrah as the ultimate superlative for excellence and added Bumrah’s name instead of the usual ‘Best’ that people use as a superlative for good and better.

Clouds of uncertainty hang over Bumrah’s fitness

Bumrah continued to run relentlessly with the bowl to save India’s hopes and post a positive result in the Melbourne and Sydney BGT 2024-25 Test. Although his efforts did not yield much for the team, the added strain on the ace pacer resulted in his back injury. Bumrah bowled more than 150 overs during the series and hence the lower back spasm was only apparent for the pacer.

However, the 31-year-old’s injury situation now appears to have worsened with reports suggesting swelling in his back. With a T20I and ODI series at home against England just around the corner, the Indian team is desperately hoping for some positive news on Bumrah’s injury. The question is more worrying considering the fact that Indian team has to go to UAE soon to play their matches for Champions Trophy 2025 after the series in England.
