Sikandar Raza shockingly declares PSL ‘best’ after IPL 2025.


Zimbabwean all-rounder and T20I captain Sikandar Raza has raised many eyebrows with his shocking comments about the Indian Premier League (IPL). After being dropped by all the teams in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction, Raza seems to have lost interest in the tournament.

After going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Sikandar Raza’s tone has changed dramatically, as the Zimbabwean all-rounder has openly admitted that he enjoys the Pakistan Super League (PSL) more. He Raza said that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is more fun and entertaining compared to the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has raised many eyebrows.

When asked which league, IPL or PSL, he enjoys the most, Raza was quick to pick the T20 franchise tournament from the country of his birth, Pakistan. Sikandar Raza was quoted as saying to Sports Tak, “I enjoy PSL more. I find the PSL much more enjoyable. As for enjoyment.”

Meanwhile, Raza, who is set to represent Lahore Qalandars in the upcoming PSL 2025, denied any disappointment over his snub at the mega auction of IPL 2025. The Zimbabwe captain said he was not disappointed to miss out on this year’s Indian Premier League; rather, he is more focused on working hard and trying his luck again next time.

Raza explained: “Not at all. I have very strong beliefs and faith. What was meant to be, was meant to be. If you do your best, from a cricketing point of view, whether it’s on the international stage or the franchise stage, no matter what tournament you’re in, there’s no selection. I’m coming back; I work hard. I’m putting my name in the next draft and see what happens. I don’t get disappointed easily.”

Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza captains Dubai Capitals in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 and will look to lead from the front with both bat and ball. Dubai Capitals will next face MI Emirates on January 13 in their second match of the ongoing ILT20 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
