Mohammad Amir fired big warning to Rohit Sharma & Co., backing Pakistan to repeat Dubai nightmare

The Indian cricket team has been going through the toughest time ever since they won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June last year, especially in Test and ODI cricket. They look completely out of sorts at the moment and will hardly get back to winning ways in the upcoming white ball game series against England.

Recent embarrassing defeat in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Australia and the whitewash by New Zealand in the home Test series put immense pressure on the Indian cricket team. However, India have a great chance to regain their dominance in the upcoming T20I series and ODI series against England before ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Mohammad Amir feels Pakistan could have an edge in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Well, the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 might kick off with the clash between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi on February 19, but all eyes will be on the big clash between the two old enemies, India and Pakistan. This biggest clash will take place on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE.

However, the Men in Blue have a superior record to the Men in Green at ICC events, but many downgrade the Men in Blue, given their recent dip in form, and Mohammad Amir was among them. A Pakistani cricketer made a bold remark about the India-Pakistan clash in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai.

Mohammad Amir pointed out that the Pakistan cricket team is currently full of confidence after they recently defeated Australia and South Africa in the series in their own backyard. Additionally, the Men in Green are the defending champions and being the hosts, Pakistan’s morale is high.

Mohammad Amir believes Pakistan could beat India in CT 2025 clash in Dubai

Highlighting Pakistan’s form and strength in overseas conditions, Amir boldly suggested that the Men in Green could have the upper hand against India when the two arch-rivals meet in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash in Dubai next month.

The left-hander admitted that India have always been favorites in major tournaments against Pakistan, but this time the Indian cricket team is currently under pressure as they face heavy criticism for their recent defeats against Australia and New Zealand. Amir feels that Pakistan can repeat the failure in Dubai against India, but this time in ODIs.

India under pressure and facing harsh criticism: Mohammad Amir

The Times of India quoted Mohammad Amir: “The way Pakistan played recently – beating Australia in Australia and then beating South Africa – shows their strength, especially in overseas conditions. Considering their recent performances, I think Pakistan will have an edge against India. However, India has always been my favorite in major tournaments. But the Indian team is under pressure and facing serious criticism due to recent defeats.”
