Pakistan Test squad for West Indies series announced, 7 big changes revealed


Pakistan national cricket team has announced the squad for the upcoming test series against West Indies cricket team. These two teams will compete against each other in two matches that will be played from January 17 to 21 and from January 25 to 29.

Shan Masood will lead the 15-member squad, while Saud Shakeel will be the vice-captain of the team. In all, the Pakistan National Cricket Team made 7 changes to the squad from the last Test series, which they played against the South African National Cricket Team.

Sajid Khan, who was the team’s hero in the England series, was called into the side along with mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed. They will form a spinner department with left-arm spinner Noman Ali for the two-match series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Huraira return to Test squad, replace injured Saim Ayub and out-of-form Abdullah Shafique

Opener Imam-ul-Haq, who last played a Test against Australia in 2023, has also been added to the squad for the series along with Mohammad Hurair. They will replace the injured Saim Ayub and the out-of-form Abdullah Shafique in the team.

Aamer Jamal, Mohammad Abbas, Mir Hamza and Naseem Shah were rested for the series due to workload management. In their place, the Pakistan cricket team retained Khurram Shahzad, recalled Mohammad Ali and included the uncapped Kashif Ali.

Wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah, who sustained a fracture on his right hand during the Cape Town Test, has been ruled out. He will be replaced by Pakistan U19 and Shaheen’s captain Rohail Nazir. The Shan Masood-led side would like to continue with the same momentum and win the second series at home on the trot. It is expected that they will want to go with a spin-based attack. They are expected to play three spinners as they did in England.
