Layout, lineups, format and streaming
The countdown to the Women’s Ashes 2025 is finally over. England are on a mission to end their 12-year wait for an Ashes trophy against Australia. The multi-format series begins on January 12
Women’s Ashes 2025 Format
The 2025 Women’s Ashes will follow a fresh format. A one-off Test match will end the series instead of opening it. The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the final match of the series. This will be the first women’s Test at the MCG since 1949.
The test will last four days day-night, bringing a unique challenge for both teams under the lights. It also marks the 90th anniversary of the first women’s Test match, making it a historic occasion in more ways than one.
The 2025 Women’s Ashes will follow the same scoring system as before. A Test match carries four points, while each T20I and ODI win is worth two points. Nine points is the magic number to take home the Ashes. If it ends in a draw? Australia holds the trophy.
