Hoping to bridge the gap to Premier Leaguefirst four, Aston Villa now they are reportedly planning to sign the defender who has previously enjoyed impressive success Unai Emery.
Aston Villa transfer news
WITH Jaden Philogene is reportedly on his way to Ipswich Town in a £21m dealAston Villa could find themselves in a position to welcome their own reinforcements in the January transfer window. And that should only fuel further rumors after the likes Donyell Malen and Jamie Gittens already threatened to steal the headlines this month.
Malen’s potential arrival is especially to watch out for as the Villans look for a bigger goalscoring threat alongside Ollie Watkins even after Leon Bailey finally ended his season-long drought against Leicester City last time out.
As things stand, Emery’s side sit eighth in the Premier League and a frustrating four points adrift of the Champions League, adding to a campaign so far full of inconsistencies. Now, as Emery looks for renewed success, he could reportedly welcome a familiar face to Villa Park.
According to Relev, Aston Villa are now planning to sign Juan Foythwho previously thrived under Emery at Villarreal. The versatile right-back and the Spaniard even won the Europa League together when the Yellow Submarine beat Manchester United on penalties at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Foyth is also well aware of the quality required to compete in the Premier League, breaking into the Tottenham Hotspur squad as a youngster before discovering his best form with a move to La Liga. Able to play at right-back and as a centre-back, the Argentine defender would immediately offer crucial versatility in the Midlands.
The “brilliant” Foyth deserved a return to the Premier League
Since leaving Spurs in 2021, Foyth has joined a list of former Lilywhites who have secured silverware before the north London club. The Argentina international has moved on since being shown the exit door and has become a reliable option for Villarreal, and could be given a second chance in the Premier League by reuniting with Emery this month.
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig was among those to praise Foyth during his time in Spain, calling his performances against Real Madrid “brilliant” in 2021 and mentioning Spurs’ likely regret.
That regret would quickly become more apparent than ever when Foyth arrived in the Midlands to push Aston Villa back into the Premier League’s top four and leave Spurs scrambling for them.
The defender is certainly one to watch, especially if Emery is looking to reunite before the end of the January transfer window.
