The personal lives of Indian crickets continue to face tough challenges. India-Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey has sparked divorce rumors with his wife Ashrita Shetty just days after leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal sparked a similar controversy.
Pandey and his wife unfollowed each other on Instagram fueling speculations about their separation. The news has left the cricketing community in shock as both have been seen with each other many times in the past.

Manish Pandey sparks divorce rumors with his wife
Manish Pandey tied the knot with model-turned-actress Ashrita Shetty on December 2, 2019 in Mumbai. They saw each other quite often in the first years of their marriage, but they haven’t appeared in public for some time.
Ashrita is believed to have already removed all her pictures with Manish Pandey since June last year. Pandey has done a similar thing now as he has deleted all the pictures with his wife on his Instagram account.
All these events worried their family and friends. and followers. However, both have chosen to remain silent for the time being and have not officially spoken out on the matter.
Manish Pandey’s international future
Manish Pandey has been out of the Indian team for a long time now. His last international match was in 2021 when he played an ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Since then, poor form and stiff competition in the Indian team have affected his chances.
Not just in international cricket, the 35-year-old was recently dropped from the Karnataka squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy after the selectors decided to invest in younger cricketers following a poor performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, Pandey is likely to feature in Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy team in the second round of the tournament.
Manish Pandey had a stellar ODI debut where he scored a crucial 71 off 86 balls in India’s win over Zimbabwe in 2015. He made headlines when he scored a brilliant hundred against Australia in Sydney 2016.
Pandey came to the key position of no. 4 and smashed a magnificent 104* off 81 balls to lead India to an incredible victory. Pandey hit 8 fours and 1 six during the innings as India chased down 331 with two balls to spare.
Manish Pandey will be seen in the upcoming Indian Premier League season for Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR signed him in IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 75 lakh. His best moment in the IPL came in the 2014 final when he smashed 94 off just 50 balls against Kings XI Punjab to help KKR lift the trophy.

A few days ago, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma also fueled the divorce rumours. Chahal removed all photos of Dhanashree from his social media account, while Dhanashree chose to keep all of Chahal’s pictures.
The rumors started when Chahal and Dhanashree unfollowed each other on Instagram. Dhanashree finally broke her silence on the subject and revealed that she was hurt by all the hateful comments directed at her.
