‘Senator for all Pennsylvanians’: Fetterman confirms he will meet with Trump
Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman confirmed that he will meet with President-elect Donald Trump ahead of the former and incoming president’s second inauguration on January 20.
“President Trump invited me to meet and I accepted. I’m a senator for all Pennsylvanians — not just Pennsylvania Democrats,” Fetterman told Fox News on Thursday.
“I’ve been clear that no one is my gatekeeper. I will meet and talk with anyone if it helps me deliver results for Pennsylvania and the nation,” he added.
A source familiar with the meeting told Fox Digital that it will take place over the weekend at Mar-a-Lago. It will be the first known meeting between Trump and the sitting Democratic senator at Mar-a-Lago.

Fetterman endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president during Election cycle 2024 but he was one of the few Democrats to say publicly that Trump was earning strong support among voters — most notably in his battleground state of Pennsylvania.
“There’s a difference between not understanding it and acknowledging it exists,” Fetterman he told the New York Times in October of Trump’s support. “And anyone who spends time driving around, and you can see the intensity. It’s amazing.”

In another interview ahead of the election, Fetterman acknowledged that Pennsylvania voters share a “bond” with Trump before also unleashing a tirade aimed at Trump and mocking the former president’s campaign.
“I was saying this, whether it was Biden or whether it was Harris, I said it was going to be very close. And Trump definitely has a connection with the voters here in Pennsylvania, and that’s why it’s going to be close,” he said. Fetterman on CNN’s “State of the Union” in November ahead of Election Day.

FETTERMAN CALLS TRUMP SUPPORT IN PENNSYLVANIA ‘BORING’: ‘YOU CAN SEE THE INTENSITY’
“I mean this the election was a serious flex for brothers And you know, it was weird that the Democrats were like, ‘Oh, cat ladies without kids. How dare you.’ Okay, that’s weird. I don’t know why [JD] Vance would say that — you can be pro-family without insulting people who choose not to have children or can’t have children,” Fetterman said.

“I love the people who are absolutely going to vote for Trump. They’re not fascists. They’re not those things. I think if you go on a tricky switch, use those kinds of terms, then it’s kind of hard to go back on those things. It’s the kind of word that’s not part of the vernacular. scolding harder for voters or clutching pearls harder will never work for the Democrats,” Fetterman said.
