Women in Syria: Can the future be female?

In a special edition, we focus on Syria, a nation that has been published from a decade of brutal dictatorship. The temporary leader of the country Ahmed al-Sharaa signed a constitutional declaration, setting rights for women and freedom of expression. After the rebels under the leadership of Islamist demolished the government of Bashar Al-Assad last December. Still, sectasy violence is still threatening to separate the country as we have recently seen with those attacks aimed at the Alavite Community, treated as Assad’s associates. The fear of Syrian women is reported that their newly established freedom can be endangered by the increase in religious respect. Annette Young also talks to Mariam Jalabi, co -founder of the Syrian women’s political movement, an umbrella organization that represents women from all communities and pushes for them to have a place at the table.
